OrthoChart, LLC was founded in October 1993 with a simple goal: provide orthodontic practices with a complete, reliable practice management system at a reasonable cost. Before starting OrthoChart, I served as the office manager of a large orthodontic practice that relied on a competitor’s management system. Over time, our office grew frustrated with rising support fees, high software costs, and unnecessary complexity. It became clear there was an opportunity to do things differently — and better. OrthoChart was created to meet that need. From the beginning, our focus has been on delivering a comprehensive orthodontic practice management solution that covers scheduling, patient accounts, billing, and daily operations — without the inflated costs often associated with large software vendors.
OrthoChart’s development has always followed the real-world needs of orthodontic offices. The software began as a DOS-based system, quickly transitioned to Windows, and continued evolving alongside each major advancement in the Windows operating system. When Windows 95 was introduced, OrthoChart was ready — becoming one of the first orthodontic practice management systems built specifically for that platform. While many legacy systems continued to rely on outdated technology, OrthoChart remained focused on modern, stable, and practical solutions. This long history has given us deep experience with Windows-based software and the operational needs of orthodontic practices — experience that continues to guide OrthoChart today.
